Awesome

I mean come on it's chris cox and Sean and Rusty how could it not be awesome and smexy and everything we love just waiting for more stories and side stories and ohhhhhhhhh fan art hmmmm if only I could draw.....stick figures would not do them justice and would be quite confusing. Did I mention I really like this series but the book can be read alone then go back and read all the Sean and rusty goodness if you want to which you will:)

Jingle My Bells

This is the fourth book in the Bayou Boys Series, and according to the sneak peek at the end of this book there will be a "5th and final story in Sean and Rusty's first year together after college graduation." It should be noted that the first three short stories combined (1150 locations) are about the same length as this novella (1049 locations).
I did read the first three short stories before reading this novella and I believe that it really helped my understanding of the two main characters. In spite of numerous bumps along the way, Sean and Rusty have an incredible love for each other and always have each other's backs. They have grown, both personally and in their relationship, in each of these books. Although at times I was frustrated with both MC's I could also understand where each of them were coming from, especially considering how young they are.
Rusty has an amazing and supportive family and until this year has never been away from them. He is terribly homesick and views his past with rose colored glasses, not realizing until this Christmas visit that he has matured and that his new life with Sean is what truly makes him happy.
Sean has endured tremendous abuse (detailed in the third book "Tricked Up For Treats") by his father and dreads returning to New Orleans for Christmas. He has never felt that he was worthy of being loved but he is now in therapy and is beginning to heal. During this trip he is finally able to accept that Rusty's family loves him as their own. He is also able to tentatively reconnect with his mother and sister.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series so far but I wish they were combined into fewer books. As much as I love series, this piecemeal approach to storytelling becomes quite expensive. This is particularly true here since all five stories (counting the next release) only cover a single year in these characters lives. In addition, the ending of each of these stories appeared to have a HEA (until the next book). According to the author's website, the sixth book in the series will be about Levi. I really hope that Levi's story is told in a single novel length installment that is reasonably priced.
Since I am now invested in these characters, I will most likely continue with this series (although cost could persuade me otherwise). Three and a half stars.

A heartwarming christmas tale

I got this story for free for an honest review, through the M/M Romance group's DBML program.
This story had me devouring the 92 page in a little under an hour. I was drawn in to the story of Rusty Duchene and Sean Delahunt going from their Boston home to the City of their birth New Orleans for Christmas. Sean is a lot like me in that he is more comfortable when he is giving than receiving, he is uncomfortable flying, and he will try to do anything for the people he loves. Sean is in therapy for family and relationship issues. He loves Rusty but sometime feels unworthy of him. with his unease (fear) at flying it is Amazing that when he won 3rd place in a contest he willingly traded the prize of a voucher for an expensive burberry coat for the 4th place prize of plane tickets. Sean and Rusty always have each other's back. It is so good seeing them overcome their issues to stick together.
Sean's dad, A violent homophobe who kicked Sean out of the house at 16, Is contrasted by Rusty's parents who not only accepted that when rusty was ten he was gay already looking for a more welcoming church for their son, they also took Sean in when he was Kicked out. One of the most moving scene in this short novella( I have problem calling a 92 page story, a short story) Is when Sean is able to call Rusty's parents Mom and Dad. Rusty's parents remind me of my parents in that my parents ended up unofficially adopting many of our friends.
I also enjoyed the reunion of Sean with his mother and sister. they finally broke away from Sean's violent domineering father and got the chance to tell Sean how Much they loved him.
Chris Cox is going to be placed on My list of Must read author's. there were a few grammatical and spelling errors but they were so few and easily overcome by the powerful storytelling by Chris Cox.
